The COMMET Symposium is an international scientific meeting organized by the National Laboratory for Biomimetic Solutions for Diagnosis and Therapy (LANSBIODYT-UNAM) to celebrate its tenth anniversary and to bring together leading researchers, clinicians, engineers, industry representatives, and students working at the frontier of biomedical innovation.
The symposium addresses one of the most important challenges in modern biomedicine: understanding how cells interact with their physical and biochemical environment, and how this knowledge can be translated into advanced experimental models, diagnostic technologies, regenerative therapies, and next-generation medical devices.
Unlike traditional conferences focused on a single discipline, COMMET is designed as a multidisciplinary platform where biology, physics, engineering, materials science, medicine, biotechnology and data science converge to address common scientific and technological challenges.

A central component of the symposium will be the celebration of the first ten years of LANSBIODYT, one of Mexico’s leading infrastructures for translational biotechnology, biomimetic systems, microfluidics, advanced imaging and biomedical innovation. The program will include dedicated sessions highlighting scientific achievements, technology development projects, collaborative networks, and the role of National Laboratories in strengthening Mexico’s scientific and technological ecosystem.
COMMET is conceived not only as a scientific conference, but also as a forum for collaboration and community building. In addition to keynote lectures and research presentations, the symposium will feature poster sessions, networking activities, technology demonstrations, workshops, and industry participation opportunities.
